Officials Break Ground for Multi-Tenant Building at Northpointe

Officials Break Ground for Multi-Tenant Building at NorthpointePA Senator Donald White, the Armstrong County Board of Commissioners, and the Armstrong County Industrial Development Authority held a groundbreaking ceremony on November 20, 2009 for Technology Center II, a multi-tenant facility at Northpointe. U.S. Congressman John Murtha and Senator White were instrumental in obtaining the funds to complete the project.

Technology Center II will be a 30,000 sq. ft. two story multi-tenant facility. Construction will begin following the groundbreaking with available occupancy in late summer of 2010. This flexible Class “B” building will permit tenants to lease space as small as a single office for start-ups, to larger and more conventional office or manufacturing space for established businesses. Building amenities include sub-dividable office space, manufacturing space, a high bandwidth fiber network and the convenience of common areas throughout the facility. This facility will also feature the use of environmentally sound building materials with low emittance glass, an energy efficient roof and a closed loop geothermal heat pump system.

Exhibitors took advantage of the valuable networking opportunities that the Showcase offers. Exhibits included leaders in the fields of electro-optics, advanced manufacturing, medical research, aerospace and defense contracting.

2009 ARMTech Showcase of Industry & TechnologyThe 11th annual ARMTech Showcase of Industry and Technology will be held on August 19th – 21st, 2009. Each year, the Armstrong County Board of Commissioners and the Armstrong County Industrial Development Council (IDC) host the event at the Belmont Complex, located in Kittanning, PA. The three-day Showcase will feature exhibits from across the country, which will allow regional businesses and organizations to build relationships with respected industry professionals. Exhibitors from the fields of electro-optics, advanced manufacturing, medical research, aerospace and defense contracting will be joined by U.S. Rep. John Murtha at the Showcase. The ARMTech Showcase is part of the Armstrong County Regional Manufacturing Initiative. The Initiative’s goals include promoting industry recruitment, workforce development and establishing local supplier relationships with Armstrong County and the surrounding region.

Sloan Brothers Company Purchases Facility at Northpointe

Sloan Brothers Company Purchases Facility at NorthpointeThe Armstrong County Board of Commissioners and the Armstrong County Industrial Development Council (IDC) have announced that Sloan Brothers Company has purchased a 20,000 sq. ft. facility at Northpointe. Sloan Brothers Company, currently located in Oakmont PA, has been in operation since 1922 designing and building lubricators and lubrication systems for compressors and other critical equipment.
Employing 14 full time technicians and professional staff, Sloan Brothers Company plans to relocate all of their operations into their new facility at 168 Armstrong Drive.
